Left-leaning “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert returned from a surprise trip to Russia with some interesting intel for President Trump — and details of his antics abroad.

“Like President Trump, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any other tapes of what I did in Russia,” Colbert quipped, referencing compromising material that the Russian government allegedly has on the president. “I did not personally make any such recordings. But I’m pretty sure my crew did.”

Colbert wasn’t confined to creating content for CBS while in St. Petersburg, either. He reportedly shared a clip of his appearance on the Russian late-night show “Evening Urgant” where he “announced” he was running for president in 2020.

“Now to be clear, all I said in that little clip there was that I was considering a run. If I decide to run, obviously I’m not going to ask the Russians to help my campaign, okay? I would have my son-in-law ask them.”

Take a look at the clip above to see why Colbert thought he owed the president an apology.
