Meet the World’s Fastest Drunk Man

This guy just broke the Beer Mile World Record

August 1, 2016 9:00 am

A 21-year-old Canadian named Corey Bellemore just crushed the Beer Mile World Record. Twice in five days. And on two continents, no less.

If this is your first time hearing about the Beer Mile, you’ve probably got questions.

Namely: the hell’s a beer mile?

It’s simple, really. Runners run a four-lap mile while slamming a beer of their choice between each lap. The beer must be canned. It must be 12 ounces. And it must be at least 5-percent alcohol. It’s perhaps the world’s drunkest race, and it is, in fact, a bona fide sporting event: the first Beer Mile World Classic was held in San Francisco last year.

Bellemore broke the record at the Beer Mile World Classic in London, where he ran an impressive 4:34.35, shaving five seconds off the previous world record — a record he himself had set three days earlier in Canada, where he ran a 4:39.56.

Think about that for a moment. Not only because the dude is running a mile while slamming beers every 400 meters, but because he’s doing it faster than 99% of the world — including Usain Bolt, probably — can do it sober.

Bellemore’s beer of choice? Kingfisher.

Which we hereby delcare the official beer of champions.
