Ellen Page stars in the trailer for the forthcoming sequel of Flatliners. The film is a follow-up to the 1990 cult psychological horror of the same name.
In the original film, a group of medical students seek to find out the truth about the afterlife, so they subject each other to near-death experiences. The trailer suggests this new film follows a similar plot to the original. It shows Page and her fellow students conducting experiments on each other, which at first seem harmless but then later prompt dangerous paranormal experiences.
The original film starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon. Sutherland will appear in the sequel. James Norton and Diego Luna will star alongside Page in the sequel and it is directed by Niels Arden Oplev.
The movie will be released in the United States on Sept. 29.
