This September, 15-year-old Patrick Ponce set the world record for the fastest completion of a 3-by-3 Rubik’s Cube when he solved one of the six-sided puzzles in 4.69 seconds.
Since it’s 11 times the size of the cube Ponce dominated this fall, we’re wagering it’d take the little dude at least 51.59 seconds to solve the massive 33-by-33 Rubik’s that Grégoire Pfennig of Greg’s Puzzles just built.
(Please don’t check our math … We took this job because we were told there wouldn’t be any.)
As the video above demonstrates, Pfennig created the massive Rubik’s Cube by 3D-printing its 6,153 parts and assembling them over the course of 202 hours. Probably the most parts ever used in a single puzzle, Pfennig estimates it’d take hundreds of hours to solve the cube.
