Design Firm Creates Mobile Drone Hotel Concept
Talk about island-hopping. The Toronto branch of global architecture and design firm HOK recently unveiled a radical new concept that could take the hospitality industry by storm someday. As its entry for the Radical Innovation Award 2016 competition, HOK came up with Driftscape, a mobile, self-sustaining hotel concept that allows guests to pilot their own rooms from hot-spot to hot-spot on two- to three-day excursions. Each Driftcraft room would use drone technology to take flight, providing its single occupant with 360-degree views and the flexibility of exploring just about anywhere within reach of the desired destination. Check out the concept’s renderings below. For more on the project, click here. To check out past Radical Innovation award winners, click here.
