Despite its war-pocked history, Beirut today is home to a burgeoning creative scene. That said, it should come as no surprise that Serge Najjar’s photography is turning heads. Like Turkey’s Tener Youn, Najjar is finding striking images of unique architecture around his hometown. The Lebanese photographer described his process when talking to photography blog LensCulture:
“Every Saturday I drive my car towards a destination, still unknown, and guide myself by my instinct, by light and by whatever attracts my eye… In most cases, what captures my attention are the architectural details. My aim, then, is to try and get closer to abstraction (within the real world).”
