Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Sets Sedan Nurburgring Lap Record

At the legendary Nürburgring racing track in Germany, 11 seconds can feel like an eternity.

Just ask Belgian driver Vincent Radermacker, who — in a four-door Jaguar XE SV Project 8 — lapped the racetrack in seven minutes and 22 seconds, smashing the previously held record by 11 seconds. The lap time makes the Jag the fastest production-ready sedan to ever lap the ‘Ring.

Relying on a supercharged V8 engine and an eight-speed transmission, the XE SV Project 8 — which does 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and tops out at 200 mph — ripped off a blistering lap time to claim the title.

Yep, you read that correctly. What Edwards is saying is Jaguar is making production models of the XE SV Project 8 — 30 of them to be exact. If you’ve got $188,495 in the bank, you might be able to get one, but, appropriately, they’re sure to be going fast.
