In defiance of the NLFPA advising players not to participate in group workouts prior to the start of training camp at some point next month, Tom Brady and some of his new Buccaneer teammates are continuing to work out together in the Tampa Bay area.
According to The Tampa Bay Times, Brady led a two-hour group workout on Tuesday morning at a local prep school, days after two Bucs players and one assistant coach tested positive for COVID-19.
And, in a series of photos Brady posted to social media with the message “No Excuses,” the former Patriot made it obvious social distancing suggestions were not being followed during the workout.

Florida, where Brady, Gronkowski and other teammates including Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, Ryan Griffin and Blaine Gabbert are working out, is experiencing a drastic rise in new COVID-19 tests and may already be the new epicenter of the virus in the United States.
The surge in cases in the state and across the country led Dr. Thom Mayer, the NFLPA medical director, to advise players to cease group workouts.
“Please be advised that it is our consensus medical opinion that in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in certain states that no players should be engaged in practicing together in private workouts,” Mayer wrote in an email to all players. “Our goal is to have all players and your families as healthy as possible in the coming months.”
Brady, who will turn 43 in August, may be wise to heed Mayer’s advice as won’t have too many more kicks at the can regardless of how well he plays in Tampa Bay and it would be a huge blow to jeopardize his playing status for the upcoming season with a case of the coronavirus.
In the event that Brady does get sick, Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians is already preparing to have his replacement ready in the form of a quarterback who’s been kept in constant quarantine.
Arians has also taken part in a local campaign to curb the spread of the virus, but apparently Brady is ignoring his new coach the same way he isn’t listening to the NFLPA.
