Report: Michael Jordan May Appear With LeBron James in “Space Jam 2”

James will star and serve as executive producer of the new film.

They’ll never team up in the NBA, but LeBron James and Michael Jordan may be joining forces on the big screen.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, there have been discussions about involving Michael Jordan in Space Jam 2 in some way.

Not a direct sequel of the original, a reinterpretation of the 1996 film is set to star James.

Earlier this week, the production company started by James and Maverick Carter, SpringHill Entertainment, teased the project on Twitter and revealed that Ryan Coogler (CreedBlack Panther) had signed on to produce.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Carter said there will “hopefully” be a role for Jordan in the new film “if he wants it.”

“Michael Jordan is Michael F-ckin’ Jordan,” Carter said. “It doesn’t matter [if James] calls him, he’s gonna do whatever the hell he wants, which he has earned that right to do. LeBron and Michael are not sitting around talking about Space Jam.”
