Do not dally. Do not delay. These fares will not last.
We’re talking $55 fares for June travel to Europe (and €65 on the way back) for travel in June. Look for fares from San Francisco, Boston, D.C., L.A. and Pittsburgh to destinations like London, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin and other cities. Sorry, New Yorkers — you’re outta luck on this one.
The fares come courtesy of Reykjavik-based airliner WOWAir, one of a handful of transatlantic low-cost carriers (Norwegian, Level and more) currently embroiled in an overheated fare war. Headlines — and customers — go to the airlines with the biggest deals. As a result, we’re seeing fares that would have been inconceivable even a few summers back.
Of course, you get what you pay for: Don’t expect much legroom or any particularly sweet amenities. Do expect to pay extra for bags and seat assignments. That said — the official IH appraisal is … it’s fine. Not luxurious. But it’ll get you where you want to go.
Now hop on it: these fares are going to evaporate.
