Clarks’ New Veg-Tan Collection Will Probably Outlive Your Feet

Like a fine wine, these boots'll only get better with age

Fans of Clarks will be happy to hear the brand is changing up their formula this spring.

Fans of things that get better with age will be happy to hear that said formula will involve dressing all their classic silhouettes — the Desert Boot, Wallabee, Desert Trek, Weaver and Trigenic Flex — in supple veg-tan leather.

Vegetable tanning, as you may or may not know, is one of the oldest leather tanning methods being used today. It’s organic. Also time-consuming. But very much worth it. The result gives the leather a supple hand and natural neutral color that develops an eye-catching patina with heavy use and age.

So, basically, what you’re looking at are blank canvases — it’s up to you to give these kicks their character. The “Veg Tan” collection is set to release over at Clarks in the coming weeks. If you wanna get a jump, head on over Need Supply.
