“Don’t wake me, I plan on sleeping in.” I kid you not, those Postal Service lyrics are coming out of my Sonos speaker as I’m writing these words. Today, Brooklinen, my favorite bedding company, launched its first loungewear collection. I don’t believe in signs, but this right here? This is a sign.
That announcement again: The company that makes the classic percale sheets that currently adorn my mattress and make it nigh impossible to get out of bed in the morning are now moving into tee-and-sweats territory. While we haven’t had a chance to test out the clothes yet — since they’re currently in “soft launch” phase — we have to work under the assumption that Brooklinen’s end goal is to keep us in a constant state of too-relaxed-to-work.
So what’s on offer at launch? There are four men’s items, the Prospect Tee, Clark Tank, Bowery Short and Bergen Jogger (there’s a women’s collection, too). As Brooklinen writes, the basics are inspired by “vintage athletic wear” which is another way of saying these are simple silhouettes paired with fabrics you can pronounce (namely, cotton, modal and a lil’ spandex).
But if you’ve never experienced Brooklinen’s bedding before, know that these will outdo your typical cotton essentials in the quality department. As an added bonus, they’re made in the U.S.A. As an added monetary bonus, the collection is on pre-order (shipping July 15th) and right now they’re offering 10% off if you buy two items and 20% off if you buy three or more.
We’ll have a full review once we get our hands on a few pieces, but if you want to be on the cutting edge of comfort (and need something to watch the new season of Stranger Things in) we’d bet Brooklinen won’t let you down.
We've put in the work researching, reviewing and rounding up all the shirts, jackets, shoes and accessories you'll need this season, whether it's for yourself or for gifting purposes. Sign up here for weekly style inspo direct to your inbox.
