After he had rounds of 70 and 78 and missed the cut at the British Open, Tiger Woods hinted that he might skip playing in the first FedEx Cup playoff events later this month.

But, the 43-year-old has apparently had a change of heart and he will be hitting links at the Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J., next week as well as at the BMW Championship at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois, the following week.

Besides missing the cut at The Open at Royal Portrush, Woods has played only three times since winning his fifth Masters (and 15th overall major) in April. Those outings haven’t been great as Woods missed the cut at the PGA Championship, tied for ninth at the Memorial and ended up tied for 21st at the U.S. Open.

“This year I made a conscious effort to cut back on my schedule to make sure that I don’t play too much,” Woods said at the British Open. “I want to play here as long as I possibly can. And you have to understand, if I play a lot, I won’t be out here that long. So it’s understanding how much I can play, prepping how much I do at home and getting ready. And that’s the tricky part is trying to determine how much tournament play I need to get the feel for the shots and also understanding where my body is.”

Woods is currently 27th in the FedExCup standings with 1,003 points. Brooks Koepka is at the top of the standings with 2,887.
