The youngest player to ever be named Super Bowl MVP is the favorite to take home his second regular-season MVP award for the upcoming the 2020 NFL season.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 24, has been installed by Caesars Sportsbook as a 4-1 favorite to win the NFL’s MVP award this season.
Mahomes, who previously won the regular-season MVP award in 2018, is ahead of last year’s winner, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who is 13-2 at Caesars to repeat. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is next at 9-1, followed by Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson at 12-1 and Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady at 16-1.
At 40-1, Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has the shortest odds of any non-quarterback to win MVP. It’s worth pointing out that his odds are actually much better than Jackson’s odds of winning MVP prior to kickoff of last season.

Running back Adrian Peterson was the last non-QB to win the award when he did it with the Vikings in 2012.
“This is a very, very hard award for someone who doesn’t play quarterback or running back to win,” Jeff Davis, director of risk for Caesars Sportsbook, told ESPN. “If a receiver has a big year, it’s generally given to the quarterback. Given the way the league has turned to a passing, quarterback-centric league, for a running back to win, it would take a Herculean effort.”
A wide receiver has never won the award, while running backs have won it 16 times, compared to 42 MVP wins for quarterbacks.
