With four touchdown passes during the New Orleans Saints’ 34-7 Week 15 win over the Colts Monday night, Drew Brees is the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns … for now.
Entering the game trailing Peyton Manning for the NFL passing touchdowns record by two scores, Brees tossed his 538th, 539th, 540th, and 541st TDs.

“It was special, everything about the night,” Brees said after the win. “It just kind of makes your whole life and career flash before your eyes, because I never thought I’d have a chance to be part of something like this.”
The 40-year-old quarterback, who set the NFL’s all-time passing yardage mark last season, may not hold the all-time TD record for long as he is only three passing scores ahead of Tom Brady.
While it seems likely Brees will end up with more passing scores, this could also result in annoying back-and-forth situation where Brady and his peer on the Saints will alternate being atop the leaderboard.

By completing 29-of-30 passes for 307 yards in the win, Brees also set the record for the best single-game passing percentage by having a 96.7 percent success rate on his throws.
With the win, the Saints complicated the playoff picture in the NFC even further as they now have the same record as the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers. But, thanks to tiebreakers, the Saints find themselves in the third seed in the conference.

However, it is likely they will move up as the Seahawks and 49ers still have to play each other again and the Packers need to take on a Vikings team that is only one game behind them in the NFC North.
The Cowboys, who are in the fourth seed by virtue of occupying first place in the NFC East, will remain there if they are able to beat the Eagles this week. If Dallas loses, Philadelphia will take over the fourth seed.
The Saints will take on the Titans and the Panthers on the road to close out their season.
