Charles Barkley wants LeBron James to change teams — temporarily.
The bombastic Hall of Fame TNT studio analyst said James should join his network’s NBA crew and take part in postseason coverage this spring because The King has “nothing to do.”
James, of course, is not in the playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season after his Los Angeles Lakers went 37-45 this season, good for tenth place in the Western Conference.
Hey @KingJames,
Chuck's not asking, he's begging. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/U9gJcQbbS9

“I’ve said this before, America, and this is the last time,” Barkley said Sunday. “LeBron James, come into the studio. You ain’t got nothing to do. The playoffs started yesterday. You’ve got free time. I know you’ve got to pick a coach and a general manager. Just put that on the back burner. I’m speaking on behalf — I’m begging you on behalf of [the rest of the crew] Ernie [Johnson], Kenny [Smith] and Shaq.”
Barkley then suggested he, along with Smith and Shaq, would help LeBron pick out the next coach for the Lakers, who are without one after Magic Johnson abruptly resigned last week prior to the team’s first game of the season.
As of now, it sounds as if Tyron Lue, one of James’ coaches with the Cavaliers, is the clubhouse leader for the Lakers gig.
