18,000 Canadian Hockey Fans Save the Day by Singing ‘Star-Spangled Banner’

You’d expect tensions to be high before a playoff game between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks, yet a microphone malfunction in Edmonton on Sunday led to a poignant international moment.

Canadian country star Brett Kissel was about to perform the U.S. national anthem when he realized his microphone wasn’t working. So, as MarketWatch reports, he called upon the 18,000 mostly Canadian fans to help out. They obliged in what was a inspirational example of neighborly good will.
