Here’s a test.

Extend your index finger and your middle finger side-by-side. Place the two fingers gently against the soft crevice on the side of your neck right about the carotid artery. Press down slightly.

Do you feel a pulse? If your answer is ‘Yes,’ congratulations, you’re alive. Now it's time to consider having some damn fun. Specifically, fun in one of these incredible rally cars.

Bonhams’ upcoming Quail Lodge auction this August in Carmel is offering up a collection of rare, one-owner rally rides including some killer Group B Homologations, which, if you’re not familiar, is essentially the street-legal version of the track car.

Here’s a look at the some of the joy rides in store.

1985 Lancia Delta S4 Stradale
A Group B Rally car that competed in the World Rally Championship in ‘85 and ‘86. It has all-wheel drive and has excellent traction on loose surfaces with less than 8,900 miles on the odi.

1985 Audi Sport Quattro S1
The first rally car to utilize four-wheel drive in competition racing with under 19,000 miles on ‘er.

1983 Lancia Rally 037 Stradale
This cherry legend — coined the Tipo 151 — took the World Rally Championship Constructor trophy in ‘83. It’s an exceptional original model with less the 6,000 miles clocked total.

1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale
A cool number that took the World Rally Championship ‘74 through ‘76. It’s regarded as one of the greats and is in fine original condition with just a shave under 8,000 miles on her.

1986 Ford RS200 Evolution
With just 24 makes ever produced, the RS200 is synonymous with speed as one of the fastest accelerators of its time. We can’t quite make out the mileage, but she’s in near perfect condition.

1985 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16
Last year, this model sold for around $189,000 at Bonhams. You can expect for this car to go for the same or likely much higher. The ‘85 and ‘86 World Rally Championship Constructor ride is boasting OG tires and a low mileage.
