Because the interwebs are crammed full of crazy things, and sometimes the purpose of those things is not immediately discernible, we present WTF Is It?
WTF is it?
The Holmes Vaporizer Pipe, a Sherlock Holmes-inspired vape pen with a deerstalker bowl, LED flames, wireless charger and minimalist features for effortless tobacco on-the-trail. It was created in honor of Peterson of Dublin‘s 150th anniversary and their popular Sherlock Holmes Collection.
So what’s it do?
Vape on dark cobblestone streets while a warm glow emanates with each drag. The redesigned mouthpiece keeps it clean and buttons on the bowl control flavor strength.
Who makes it?
Industrial designer Steve Bae created the mockup and presents it to Peterson of Dublin as a way for their Sherlock Holmes Collection to stay relevant.
Is it in any way useful?
Well, as opposed to an actual pipe, it eliminates the hassle of lighting it on windy nights or packing tobacco whilst manning a horse-drawn carriage … but doing those things demonstratively is kind of why you smoke a pipe in the first place.
Can I buy one?
Not yet. Follow Bae if you want to keep up on the project.
Should I buy one?
The better question is: Would Sherlock Holmes buy one? No. He would not think of trading the meticulous selecting, packing and smoking of pipe tobacco for what amounts to an unnecessarily elaborate e-cig. Moreover, if anyone desecrates the Holmes name by penning a story where he vapes, don’t be surprised if that author meets an untimely end at the jaws of a demonic hound.
Where can I see more WTF Is Its?
Elementary, my dear Watson.
