According to a report by ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings have fined wide receiver Stefon Diggs over $200,000 for his unexcused absences from practices and team meetings. Diggs reportedly missed all team meetings on Monday and Tuesday as well as two practices.

Despite the fine and the missed practices, Diggs is expected to remain active Sunday (Oct. 6) when the Vikings take on the New York Giants.

Citing league sources, ESPN reports that the absences are not likely to encourage the team to trade Diggs before the Oct. 29 deadline, adding that multiple teams have reached out to the Vikings about a potential deal involving Diggs and all have been told that Minnesota will not trade him. “Chances are overwhelming that a deal involving Diggs won’t be completed this season before the trade deadline,” according to the publication.

When asked by reporters on Thursday about speculation over whether he wanted to be traded to another team, Diggs didn’t deny that he’s looking for a change. “I feel like there’s truth to all rumors, regardless on what it is — good or bad,” he said at the time. “I can’t say what’s real and what’s not.”

While a trade isn’t likely now, ESPN reports that the Vikings could revisit the idea of a potential trade during the offseason.
