Entering the last night’s matchup with the Suns at 1-2 on the season, the Golden State Warriors were dealt another blow when Stephen Curry suffered a broken left hand after a hard fall — and they lost the game to boot.
Curry was injured in the third quarter when he drove to the rim, collided with Phoenix center Aron Baynes and ended up on the ground under the Suns’ big man.

Now 1-3 following their 121-110 loss to Phoenix, the Warriors must brace themselves to be without their star player for an extended period of time as they await the results of an MRI and CT scan. Depending on the results, Curry may need surgery.
Though ESPN did not pose a potential timetable for Curry, a source told the network’s Ramona Shelburne that Curry has a fracture in the second metacarpal, the bone in the hand below the index finger.
“Obviously it’s been a tough start for us on many levels,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “So we’re just trying to find our footing. And obviously this puts us in a tough spot. So we’ll assess it, and we’ll go from there.”
For however long Curry is out, D’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green will have to carry Golden State’s offense and lesser players like Damion Lee, Jordan Poole and Alec Burks will attempt to step up.
