Though he hasn’t suited up in an NFL game since 2016, former Pro Bowl wide receiver and return man Percy Harvin is contemplating a return to the league.
Harvin, 31, told Josina Anderson of ESPN that he is working out, in good shape and looking forward to possibly playing again. “I’m ready to return to the NFL,” Harvin said. “I thought I was done, but that itch came back. I’ve been training with a former Olympian. My body is feeling good. Mentally I’m better. My family is good. The timing is right.”

Electric as he was at times, injuries to Harvin’s ankles, knees and hips as well as a battle with migraines limited him to playing in just 75 of a possible 128 games and prevented him from playing a full 16-game schedule in all but one of his NFL seasons.
If Harvin does make a return to the NFL, he’ll also have to overcome the anxiety disorder he struggled with but kept quiet about while he was playing pro football. Following his retirement, Harvin spoke to Sports Illustrated about what he had been dealing with in a 2018 interview.
“The best way I can describe it is that I felt ‘out of body,’” he said of a typical episode. “My heart would be going, I’d be sweating, I felt like everybody in the room was looking at me. My speech was slurring. I didn’t wanna eat. I was gasping for air. You’re so worked up that it’s hard to spit words out.”
The news about Harvin considering a return to the NFL comes on the heels of Rob Gronkowski scrapping his retirement plans and returning to play with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay as a Buccaneer.
