On Halloween night, Derrick Rose put an arsenal of old tricks and new treats on display while scoring a career-high 50 points during a 125-122 win for theMinnesota Timberwolves over the Utah Jazz.

Rose’s costume was his vintage self as the oft-injured 30-year-old regained the form that made him the 2011 NBA MVP, for a night at least.

The 10th-year player made 19 of 31 shots to reach his 50 points and chipped in six assists, four rebounds and a crucial block in the closing seconds of the game.

Rose became the fourth player this season – joining Blake Griffin, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson – to score at least 50 points.

After it was all over, Rose struggled to keep his composure during a postgame interview.

Considering everything he’s gone through, it certainly makes sense.

With the drama around teammate Jimmy Butler still playing out in Minnesota, it will be interesting to see if Rose can keep it up.

Even if he can’t, Halloween of 2018 won’t be one Rose will forget anytime soon.
