Many famous men have faced quick downfalls after allegations of sexual misconduct arose during the #MeToo movement. But Aziz Ansari’s case is proving a little different.
Some were quick to censor the comic actor in January, when an anonymous 23-year-old accused the actor of pressuring her into sex after going on a date with her, but others criticized babe.net, the publication who printed the story, for its questionable reporting practices. Ansari released a statement immediately after the allegations were released, but since, he’s largely kept out of the public eye.
Netflix has also kept quiet about whether it plans to air another season of Ansari’s Emmy-winning series, Master of None. But on Sunday, Cindy Holland, Netflix’s head of original content, told the audience at a Television Critics Association panel that the company is willing to bring Ansari back into the fold, repots Vanity Fair.
“We certainly have given some thought to it,” Holland said when asked about a third season of the show, according to Variety. “We certainly would be happy to make another season of Master of None with Aziz.” Vanity Fair notes that Holland also said that she had not spoken directly with Ansari since the accusations broke.
