Legendary French chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud is here to help make you better in the kitchen. He has teamed up with Panna, the James Beard award-winning cooking app where some of the world’s best chefs hosts cooking classes. Boulud’s class will, of course, be on French cuisine.

“We call it l’harmonie du goût,” says Boulud, according to Esquire. “The best ingredients, simply prepared with good seasoning and a great balance of flavor.”

And to get you in the right mindset, Chef Boulud has five tips:

1. Buy quality equipment

2. Plan well. Anticipate the making of the recipe, what you’ll need to make, how long you’ll need to make it.

3. Invest in the best ingredients.

4. Understand the technique and process of preparation.

5. Wow your guests with a well-done presentation.
