Bernie Sanders has canceled all events and appearances related to his presidential campaign until further notice following a procedure the senator underwent to clear a blocked artery. The surgery came after the Vermont senator was hospitalized for chest pains.

“During a campaign event yesterday evening, Sen. Sanders experienced some chest discomfort,” his senior advisor Jeff Weaver said in a statement. “Following medical evaluation and testing, he was found to have a blockage in one artery, and two stents were successfully inserted. Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide updates.”

The news comes just a day after the Sanders campaign reported $25 million in fundraising in the third quarter of the year.

The 78-year-old is one of the top names running for the Democratic nomination. His campaign says he’s in “good spirits” and “will be resting up over the next few days.”

Sanders’ fellow Democratic candidates Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Kamala Harris tweeted their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
