Luke Perry, the star of Beverly Hills, 90210 and The CW’s Riverdale, has died. The popular ‘90s TV star was 52-years-old.

Perry’s rep confirmed his death on Monday through a statement: “Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke,” the statement reads. “He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.  No further details will be released at this time.”

The actor was hospitalized last week after he suffered a massive stroke, ET reports.

At a charity event this weekend, Perry’s 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty spoke to ET about her famous friend: “I can’t talk about it here ’cause I will literally start crying but I love him and he knows I love him,” she said. “It’s Luke, and he’s my Dylan,” she said.

Perry was a certified teen heartthrob after his star power blew up thanks to 90210. His career post Beverly Hills included roles on Will & Grace, Spin City, Family Guy, and Law & Order: SVU. The actor was currently starring on Riverdale as Fred, the father of famed comic book character Archie.

Perry was married in 1993 to Rachel Sharp and the couple, while together for a decade, had two children.
