Rosie O’Donnell and Michael Cohen have reportedly bonded over their shared hatred of Donald Trump, and now the pair are cementing their unlikely friendship with a new Trump tell-all.

Rumors of the new book project first broke after O’Donnell’s visit to Cohen in prison made headlines back in March, with a source telling Page Six, “Rosie and Michael have bonded over Trump, and she’s helping him with his book, which is now highly critical of the president.”

O’Donnell has since confirmed she’s had a hand in Cohen’s book, telling the Daily Beast the former Trump fixer is “in the midst of writing” the “spicy” tell-all.

“Michael and I talked a lot about how he got involved in Trump, how it’s a cult, and what role he played,” she told the site. “He told me what chapters he was doing in his book, and on my way home, I was writing about what had happened between us, and I gave him my breakdown of things that should be in chapters.”

The actress said she and Cohen became friends after she wrote him a letter upon Trump’s impeachment. O’Donnell said she forgave  Cohen for his role in the many attacks Trump has made against the comedian, telling the Daily Beast her letter of forgiveness actually moved Cohen to tears. She eventually visited Cohen in prison at Otisville federal correctional institution.

O’Donnell added that despite their rocky history, she’s always found Cohen relatable. “He grew up on Long Island like I did, he’s a few years younger, and he reminds me of my brothers. I look at this guy and go, ‘How did he fall under the spell of that charlatan?’” she said.

O’Donnell said Cohen is “nearly done writing” the book she helped advise, “and hopes that it’ll be out before the election.”
