Eating al fresco on a working farm promises much: Fresh ingredients. Humble company. The gentle lowing of tomorrow’s dinner somewhere in the distance.

But let’s get down to what’s really important here: none promise brunch.

Well, until we found this one: Sunday Dinner Club’s farm dinner and brunch series with Prairie Fruits Farm in Champaign, IL, now selling tickets.

For those unfamiliar with Prairie Fruits Farm, it’s a seasonal, pasture-based farmstand and creamery situated on 20+ acres of bucolic central Illinois farmland. You can find their European-style cheeses at Pastoral or every week at the Green City Market.

Sunday Dinner Club, on the other hand, you probably better know. They’ve been doing this whole “underground dining” thing for a decade. Plus, the chefs behind it — Christine Cikowski and Joshua Kulp — went on to open a little eatery called Honey Butter Fried Chicken.

Now, this is not a farm stay. Accommodations? Not included. And tickets for the dinner and brunch are sold separately.

So why don’t you buy both and make a whole weekend getaway out of it?

On offer: a Saturday evening exploring the farm where you can pick some berries, pet some baby goats and enjoy a menu with everything sourced within tracking distance. Each dinner and brunch follows a theme, which you can preview here.

At night, we suggest you adjourn to the Hyatt Place in downtown Champaign. Sleep knowing you ate and drank well off the land.

Then on Sunday, do it again. Except this time: brunch.

With limited tickets available, best you start planning today.

Whole thing’s basically a restaurant residency on a farm.

And we can’t think of a better farm-to-table experience than that.
