Long story short: Timex has been digging through their archives, releasing some unexpectedly dapper watches, and people have been taking notice — for the most part they’ve sold out in a matter of hours, if not minutes. The new M79 Automatic that we reviewed in February is one such watch.

Don’t tell anyone, but it’s for sale again, just not on Timex’s website. Menswear shop Mr Porter has the M79 Automatic in stock, but don’t expect it to last long. This particular release has a black-and-blue bezel which evokes the increasingly popular Rolex “Batman” bezel — but it costs $280 instead of, you know, $8,000 — plus it packs a nice hands-off automatic movement which differentiates it from some of the other archival releases.
