Secretary of Defense Ash Carter’s office has been in the news lately—but for all the wrong reasons. But last night, Secretary Carter opened the doors of the Pentagon and gave comedian Seth Meyers an exclusive tour of the building. A few of the highlights: In Carter’s office, the Secretary of Defense notes that his morning briefing table is from the Civil War Era and his desk, famed general John “Black Jack” Pershing. He also lets Meyers “prank call” President Obama and guess the nuclear codes. Furthermore, Secretary Carter opens up the “Sixth Side of the Pentagon” to the comedian—a man-cave, featuring a cardboard standup of Chewbacca and lava lamps.

Meyers also tours the halls of the Pentagon himself, coming across a real-life gold-plated AK-47 once owned by Saddam Hussein—and “Vladimir Putin’s shirt” (you know, because the Russian president’s always pictured in the buff).

Check out the full video below—as well as Meyers’ attempt at visiting all 284 bathrooms in the Pentagon. (It’s well worth the 10-minute time stamp on the video.) If you want to fast-forward through the Pentagon tour to Secretary Carter’s appearance on Late Night, click here.
