Jay Leno Takes $3 Million Koenigsegg One:1 Supercar for a Spin

October 11, 2016 5:00 am

Jay Leno is a man who knows cars. Indeed, the former Tonight Show host owns quite a few of them, with his personal collection believed to include at least 150 cars and motorcycles. Yet when he traveled to the Michelin Laurens Proving Grounds in South Carolina to meet with Christian von Koenigsegg for Jay Leno’s Garage on CNBC, Jay still had his world rocked. At just 22, the “Bond villain” (as Leno describes him) founded Sweden’s self-named extremely high-performance automobile manufacturer. His masterpiece might be the Koenigsegg One:1, which boasts 1360-hp to give it one horsepower for every kilogram of weight. (It’s also one megawatt of power.)

Watch below to see Leno experience an extraordinarily well-thought-out vehicle (even the doors are amazing) before he gets the opportunity to take the wheel; then Christian takes over and shows him how a Swede does speed.
