These Headphones Were Inspired by Verne, Homer and Wagner
And we’ve got an exclusive discount
As cultural elites (Bonjour!), we’re here to judge your music taste.
It’s not about what you’re listening to. It’s about how you’re listening to it.
Whether you lean toward Radiohead or “Despacito,” you should enjoy your tuneage with something better than a pair of plastic beaters.
So embrace Aëdle, a Parisian house of design that crafts extremely limited-edition headphones that’ll complement your music library — and your wardrobe.
Few are privy to these sonic wonders. And only you have access to our exclusive discount.
A bit of background on Aëdle: these French audiophiles handcraft a few hundred of their headphones each year, using premium materials to create headsets that are refined and minimalist.
“Our inspiration comes from the immersive novels of Jules Verne, the bold myths of Homer and the poetic compositions of Wagner,” they note. We can work with that.
The two sets currently on sale:
VK-2: A semi-open, on-ear headset dubbed “The Valkyrie” built from aluminum and lambskin leather. Features magnetically detachable ear pads, tangle-free cords and titanium/neodymium transducers. What that means to you? They’re lightweight and unobtrusive, and easily the nicest pair on your commute.
ODS-1: An in-ear companion for travel convenience. Hooks crafted from Venetian calf leather, with an acoustic chamber made of machined aluminum and a custom-made 10mm dynamic driver in each earpiece.
As for that deal: Aëdle is extending InsideHook readers an exclusive 15% (and up) discount on either set of headphones, but only for the first three buyers. Given that Aëdle almost never offers discounts and that only a few hundred of each model are available in total, this is a steal (and a great holiday gift).
Looking for something a bit more wallet-friendly, but operating under the same ethos? This month the company launched Latitude, a set of beautiful handmade travel accessories (passport folders, phone/laptop sleeves, wallets, earphone pouches) crafted from Italian cow shoulder leather, inspired by origami and available in colors like noir, camel and nuit (black, brown and midnight blue).
Nota bene: A few things you could listen to on your new headphones would include our curated playlists from the past five years (go on, relive the best of 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and the first half of this year). Or maybe pair these headsets with one of our many, many record player picks. Or wait until year’s end, when we’ll release our annual Best Music of 2017 roundup.
