Artist Exhibit Illustrates Strangest Laws From Each of the 50 States

Most people would consider themselves law abiding citizens, but what if you broke the law without even knowing it? For instance, did you know that disrobing in front of a man’s portrait in Ohio is illegal?
A new exhibit opening at Steven Kasher Gallery in New York by Olivia Locher titled I Fought the Law sheds light on America’s most unusual laws.
The photographer’s satirical spin on these obscure laws raises points about politics and social conventions. It also serves as look into the hundreds of decisions, big and small, made by politicians every year.
“The work you are about to experience depicts America’s most unusual laws. Several of them remain on the statute books, the majority of them were at one point removed, others never became laws (but came close!) and a few of them are complete myths,” Locher said in a statement.
Locher’s I Fought the Law will be shown from Sept. 14 to Oct. 21. Take a look at some of the photos below.
