Speaking with an Amazon exec a few years ago, he lamented that they didn’t always know what was next. But he did know one thing: people want more sh*t, and they want it faster.
Case in point: you can now order yourself a test drive through Amazon Prime.
The mega-retailer is partnering with Volkswagen to offer Prime members in
Prime Now guests in those cities will be able to sign up for a limited number of drives accompanied by a “VW Atlas expert.” The whole shebang will last about 45 minutes to an hour and, not surprisingly, drivers will be encouraged to write a review of the experience and vehicle on Amazon.
“We know people have limited time and are always looking for convenient ways to test out a new product, and with the Amazon Prime Now service we are able to bring the all-new Atlas to customers’ doorsteps,” said Greg Tebbutt, the VW U.S.’s senior director of transformation,
This isn’t the first time Amazon has offered this program. In 2016, they partnered with Hyundai for a “Prime Now. Drive Now.” campaign in L.A. Two-hour deliveries will be free, while one-hour deliveries will run a shopper $7.99.
