If you think of creativity as recognizing and harnessing something extraordinary hiding in the ordinary, then skateboarder Bob Burnquist is the personification of the word. The dude has skills: he was the first pro to land a fakie to a fakie 900, which is a 900-degree reverse-natural rotation. But more than that, it’s how and, more the point, where he puts those moves to use that makes him so next level.
A few years ago he built a stunning floating wooden ramp on Lake Tahoe.
Now, he’s found an undisclosed desert rock formation for he and his buddies to use as a ramp. Most of us have never looked at the smooth, undulating stones in a desert landscape as anything other than rock. Burnquist saw a skate park. Watch him and his pals roll.
