Taft's Newest Collection Makes a Strong Argument for Shoe Jewelry

From the moment ol’ Aldo Gucci threw a brass horsebit on a pair of loafers back in 1953, a bit of shoe hardware (shoe-elry?) has been a go-to technique for giving the average dress kick (or boot) some added pizzazz.

Such is the thrust behind the new “Grail” collection from the bold bootmakers at TAFT, and hats off to them for pushing the stylistic envelope. Each of the six styles (a captoe brogue and seven-eyelet wingtip boot in three colors each) features a brass-coated chain across the toe cap, creating a deft mix of refinement and badassery. It’s the footwear equivalent of Mr. T in a tuxedo, and we are very here for it.

Not to mention the fact that all TAFT products are crafted from top quality leathers, hand-cut and stitched, calfskin lined and feature a stacked leather sole with rubber injections for comfort and durability.

And like most TAFT drops, the Grail collection is likely to go quick — so get ‘em while they’re hot.
