As NFL fans prepare for the long offseason, The Ringer has published its 2018 Stability Index. The Stability Index evaluates the dependability of team’s core, from quarterback to star players to coach to front office, heading into next season. With an unusual amount of coach and quarterback changes to come this offseason, the league looks as volatile as ever. The top three, unsurprisingly, have famous quarterback/coach combinations. The Falcons take the top spot thanks to the continued success of Matt Ryan and Dan Quinn as well as rare stability at offensive and defensive coordinator. The Saints, though Drew Brees is technically unsigned, and the Patriots, though Tom Brady is 40 and Rob Gronkowski may retire, rank as the league’s second and third most-stable teams, respectively.
