It's like your own private Darjeeling Limited

Maybe you want a destination wedding. Something to commemorate one of the most joyous and significant moments of your life.  Maybe you want more than one destination, the most bang for your buck so to speak.

And just maybe you want to travel by train with your destination wedding party from Mumbai to Delhi via Ajanta, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ranthambore and Agra (home of the Taj Mahal) on a $150,000 Heritage of India tour….

If that doesn’t sound like the beginning of a murder mystery to you (or if it does, and you’re up for an adventure), a new package is available to well-heeled bride and grooms, by way of a new offering from the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation, the excessively titled organization behind the Wedding on Wheels package on the Maharajas’ Express luxury train.

There’s room for everyone — 88 passengers — who’ll be stationed in a range of rooms, from the single presidential suite to the 43 cabins, 20 deluxe rooms, 18 junior suites, and four suites.

Note: The entire trip takes eight days. That’s eight days on a train. With your family. With your family-in-law. And you can’t leave.

Something to consider before shelling out your credit card info.
