Yes, Flint and Tinder, Huckberry’s in-house clothing brand, has partnered with the S.F. jacket legends at Golden Bear before. But they’ve never produced anything that’s made me want to reach into my computer screen and slip my arms into quite like their new sherpa-collared Bomber Jacket.
In the spring, summer and fall, when you see all manner of synthetic bomber jackets — lightweight, slimmed-down versions of the classic silhouette every brand seems to sell these days — you can almost forget that the leather version with a thick collar for added warmth goes back to the origins of the garment. The team at Flint and Tinder pays homage to that original idea, but naturally added some casual touches as you’re probably not wearing this in the cockpit.
The Golden Bear Leather Bomber comes in two colors, a tobacco brown with a beige collar and a black with an even blacker collar. Yes, this sumptuous nubuck leather jacket can get you through winter, with some strategic layering where snow isn’t in the forecast every day, but the sherpa collar can also be detached, so you can rock this all the way until T-shirt weather.
