Bill Murray is a golf legend.
But it’s not just his role as unhinged groundskeeper Carl Spackler that makes him thus. The man has also been a celeb guest at an endless roster of pro-am tournaments, hosts his own tournament and occasionally engages in some Swedish golf-cart antics.
And now he’s taking over fairways everywhere with the full launch of William Murray Golf.
Murray’s golf apparel — a collaboration with his siblings and partners in Murray Brothers LLC and Resignation Media (best known for theCHIVE) — is, in honor of the actor, an act of “casual irreverence.”
The line includes colorful polos, subtle but amusing T-shirts, the (supposed) world’s first golf button-down, a lot of tartan and, in honor of his classic Caddyshack role, groundskeeper shorts (“Moisture wicking to keep you Murray Chill and dry all day long”).
Note: the full collection follows a special polo and a line of hats that already launched to benefit a Chicago charity, and some of the items that just arrived on Murray’s site won’t actually go on sale until November.
