The arc of Tim Tebow’s life has taken some fascinating turns since winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007. He’s played in the NFL and worked as a football analyst. He’s produced a movie. He’s tried his hand at baseball — most recently, a promising season with the Class-AAA Syracuse Mets last year, which was cut short due to an injury.
And now, he’s gotten married.
Page Six reports that Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters were married in Cape Town, South Africa, in a 30-minute ceremony. The couple were engaged last January. They had begun dating during Nel-Peters’s time as Miss Universe 2017; she was the second South African to win that title.
The report on the wedding also offered some sartorial details about the bride and groom: “Tebow, 32, opted for an Antar Levar tux for the big day while Nel-Peters, 24, selected a custom David’s Bridal design.”
In a comment to People about the wedding, Nel-Peters cited their desire for a timeless wedding. “We wanted to look back at the wedding and see that it was intimate, elegant, and traditional,” she said. “We definitely wanted it to be something that we could look back on and know that nothing was dated.”
