To celebrate the NFL’s 100th season — which kicks off on Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers visiting the Bears in Chicago —all 32 teams will have a logo commemorating the mark on the back of their helmets.
The anniversary logo will be replacing the standard NFL shield, which has previously appeared in that location, according to Paul Lukas of sports uniform watchdog site Uni Watch.

In addition to appearing on game balls, turf and towels, the centennial logo will also appear on the uniforms of officials.

Other than those league-wide changes, there are a few teams that have made changes both big and small to their uniforms.
The biggest change belongs to the New York Jets, who have given their uniforms a complete makeover.

“It could have been worse, but it also could have been better,” Lukas wrote when the uniforms were rolled out in April. “For long-suffering Jets fans who are looking for something new to hang their hopes on, it’s not a bad reboot. But it doesn’t have the feel of a design that’s built to last. NFL rules stipulate that a team can’t change its uniforms more often than once every five years. Does anyone really think this design will last much longer than that?”
Outside of New York, the Miami Dolphins have a new white throwback uniform which they will debut during their Week 2 matchup against the Patriots.

The Vikings have also changed the shade of purple on their helmets thanks to a problem that TV cameras had with picking up the old hue.
The Vikings will debut a new helmet color tomorrow. The old matte purple helmet (since 2013) didn’t always look like it matched the purple jerseys in TV broadcasts. The new helmet color (left in the photo) should fix that. pic.twitter.com/HpzhM9yXgQ

The Bears also have a new 1936 throwback that they’ll be wearing for the first time on September 29 against the Vikings. Hope you like stripes.
