An NCAA basketball player with aspirations of playing in the NBA has been charged with murder in connection with a homicide in Georgia earlier this month.
Teshaun Hightower, who led the Tulane University Green Wave in scoring during the 2019-20 season, is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and battery related to an April 8 shooting in Stockbridge.
Hightower, 22, is just one of six men police are seeking in connection to the April killing of gunshot victim Devante Anthony Long. The NCAA player’s brother Jeffrey is also in police custody in connection to the shooting.
Tulane announced that Hightower, who planned to enter the NBA draft but still has one season of NCAA eligibility, has been dismissed from the team.

The 6′ 5″ point guard averaged 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game during the 2019-20 season, his only one at Tulane. Hightower played the previous two seasons at Georgia before transferring.
