Lindsey Vonn is going for gold once more in Pyeongchang, a surprise comeback for the superstar after missing the 2014 Sochi games entirely. A new story in Bleacher Report recounts Vonn’s path to Pyeongchang. Vonn’s career has been ravaged by injuries for the past five years, from a fractured humerus to a torn ACL to an intestinal infection. Now the skier returns to the Olympics to compete in the downhill, super-G, and combined events, as she hunts for her second career gold medal. At 33, Vonn knows that Pyeongchang is likely to be her final Olympics, and she plans to compete in honor of her grandfather, Don Kildow, who passed away in November. Vonn credits Kildow for instilling in her a powerhouse work ethic.
