When the 2018 NFL season begins, LeSean McCoy hopes he’ll be on the football field, not on the league’s suspended list — or worse.
That’s why the Buffalo Bills running back is keeping his focus on football instead of on the controversy surrounding an alleged assault that was made on his ex-girlfriend at his Atlanta-area home.
McCoy, who has denied any involvement in an incident that left Delicia Cordon bruised and bloodied, spoke to the media for the first time at Bills training camp since the alleged incident took place.

McCoy said he had spoken with Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott and gotten their support, but declined to reveal much else about the situation.
“It’s an open investigation and I’ll leave it at that,” McCoy said. “Right now, my main focus is on my teammates and reaching a championship together.”
McCoy has not been identified as a suspect in the incident but the investigation into what actually happened to Cordon and who was behind it is ongoing.
