The 5 Men’s Essentials You’ll Find at Huckberry’s Summer Pop-Up

Including: Some of the last truly American-made jeans, ever

If you love the outdoors, whiskey and a decent pair of jeans, listen up.

Northern California retailer Huckberry is moving into the Tanner Goods flagship this summer to showcase the latest line from Flint & Tinder, a made-in-America brand they acquired in 2016.

What’s more? They’re hosting a kickoff party with local brews, whiskey flights and live music from blues rocker The Bones of JR Jones tomorrow night, and you’re invited.

If you’re not familiar with Huckberry by now, you should be. The company was dreamt up on a chairlift above Squaw Valley, and its founders know and love adventure in Northern California. Everything they sell is meant to accommodate that lifestyle, including hard-wearing basics brand Flint & Tinder, who sell everything from undies and T-shirts to jeans made from some of the last swaths of denim to come out of North Carolina’s now-shuttered Cone Mills.

As for what you should be eyeing? We scouted the new space ahead of time to clue you in to the five key pieces you’ll find inside.

1-Year Wash Jeans
Jeans are not the place for embellishment. These? They’re as straight up-and-down as they come, made from some of the last swaths of 12-ounce, custom-designed denim ever manufactured at North Carolina’s fabled Cone Mill. RIP.

365 Shorts
Two things with shorts are always tricky: length and flex. On most heights, these reach the ideal lower-mid-thigh point. Freedom of movement, meanwhile, comes courtesy of the 3 percent Lycra/cotton mix.

Fieldhouse Hoodie
This is the hoodie you take to the gym, not to the beach: Its light weight makes it the right for the first 20 minutes of working out. (If you’re in fact looking for something that can withstand a sea breeze, try the 10-Year Hoodie, in 23-ounce fleece.)

Slub Pocket Tee
At this, just buy 10 and you’re set for the year. Made from ring-spun slub cotton and sized lean—go up a size if you’re buying online.

Waxed Trucker Jacket
A good-looking jacket, lined with flannel—on sale on the website—and featuring smart details like antique buttons and seven-ounce waxed sailcloth made in New Jersey.
