The Best Thing to Happen to Bags Since Straps

Duffel? Gym bag? Weekender? No. It's an everything bag.

We now have devices that’ll put a thousand songs in your back pocket. We have self-driving cars. Hell, we’ll soon have commercial space travel.

So why don’t we have a bag that separates your shoes from your clothes and keeps your ballcaps from getting crushed?

It’s a good question, and one that has just been answered by the L.A.-based bagmen at New North. Their duffel has a base compartment with adjustable dividers that let you customize it to fit your deliverables. Small enough for trips to the gym but roomy enough for a weekend on the lam, the pack also comes with sturdy zippers and a waterproof fabric shell.

The slip pocket on the inside is perfect for small items like headphones and cables, while a slimmer, zippered compartment on the side offers easy access to books and tablets, even if you’re accessing it from the overhead.

New North also makes a tote using this same design, but we’re eying the duffel. Donate to their (already funded) Kickstarter now and you should have it in time for winter travel.

That’s one small step for a bag, one giant leap for bagkind.
