Busy on your phone before bed? You probably won’t be, ahem, getting busy later.
A recent study by tech-solutions company Asurion (with OnePoll) discovered that three-fourths of Americans who live with their partner bring their cell phone to bed with them. Fun fact about those phone huggers? They’re twice as likely to spend time on their device than getting romantic when the sun goes down.
The survey of 2,000 U.S. adults also found that 35% of respondents say cell phones have impacted their sex lives, and that phone use is their number-one activity in the last hour before bedtime.
A separate study pretty much has Americans equating smartphone access with food and water as far as life priorities go.
Asurion’s analysis concludes that you’d be better off putting away your phone earlier, or even “using your smartphone to kickstart activities that you and your partner can do together.”
Or you could just, y’know, leave it in the other room.
