As someone who’s still doing just fine with an iPhone 7 Plus, I have no problem being a few tech cycles behind.
So while the Apple Watch Series 4 has a 30% larger and much improved display (plus louder speakers, haptic feedback, a stainless steel option and a few other bells and whistles), most smartwatch buyers or casual Apple fans will be just as happy sticking with the Series 3.
You wallet will appreciate it, too. Given that the Series 4 is still $400 and up, we’re more than happy to stick with last year’s model, the Series 3, which is currently $50 off at both Walmart and Amazon (both much cheaper than at Apple’s official store). That goes for both the 38mm and 42mm models with the sport bands, but not the cellular models (so Wifi/Bluetooth connectivity only). It’s not the lowest price ever, but it’s probably the lowest you’ll find until the Series 5 comes out next year … and when we’ll be eyeing the Series 4.
